1. Does drinking bottled water for a long time cause cancer?

Rather than paying attention to water, we should pay more attention to the material of the bucket .

Relevant regulations in my country clearly point out that the recycled barrels can only use PC material (polycarbonate) , and cannot use PET material (polyethylene terephthalate) . However, the price of the two is very different (about 20 yuan per piece), so many businesses will choose to use cheap PET buckets.

PC material, because of its wear resistance and high temperature resistance, can guarantee the quality after repeated recycling. The easiest way is to look at the bottom of the barrel. Regular manufacturers will generally mark whether it is made of PC or PET, and should also have QS certification and signs of recycling . From the appearance of the barrel, the transparency of the PET barrel is relatively poor, and the color is darker. When you flick it with your fingers, the sound is dull and soft, and it shrinks and deforms when you scald it with boiling water.

Drinking bottled water that meets the standard in daily life generally does not bring additional risks to health, so there is no need to worry too much.

Second, if the bottled water is opened for more than three days, will the bacteria exceed the limit and cannot be drunk?

Researchers have carried out colony detection on bottled water of different opening times, and the results are as follows:

Unopened/opened for 2 hours: the number of colonies per ml is 0;

1 day after opening: 30 colonies per ml;

2 days after opening: 40 colonies per ml:

3 days after opening: 1000 colonies per ml.

This does not mean that bottled water cannot be drunk. There are about 3,000 bacteria in every cubic meter of air. Once the bottled water is opened, it will come into contact with the air, and it will naturally contain bacteria. But people themselves live in an environment with bacteria. In addition to pathogenic bacteria, has the ability to resist most bacteria. Generally, only when the epidemic is rampant will the probability of pathogenic bacteria entering the bottled water through the air be relatively high.

The survey shows that the bottled water sold on the market is generally 18.9L, and the drinking time per barrel is 10 to 15 days for families and 5 to 10 days for offices. It is recommended that the bottled water that has been opened for 3 days should be boiled for daily drinking, preferably within a week. It is also possible to replace the bottled water with small buckets of 3~5L to reduce the drinking time of each bucket of water.

2. The quality of water and buckets should be qualified

Pay attention to the purchase of bottled water that meets the standards. As mentioned above, the material of the bucket can be judged by the logo on the bottom of the bucket. If it is PET, it is not recommended to buy it. Qualified water should be colorless and transparent, free of suspended matter, no particles and no peculiar smell, which can be distinguished by appearance.

3. The water dispenser should be cleaned frequently

The water dispenser also needs to be cleaned regularly, otherwise it is easy to deposit dirt and bring secondary pollution to the bottled water. It is recommended to clean it once every 3 months in summer and once every six months in winter.
