An indispensable sport in winter is skiing. It is a great pleasure in life to enjoy the feeling of gliding under the gift of nature. However, for novices who have not been exposed to skiing, before participating in skiing, they must understand the classification of skiing and the equipment that needs to be prepared, and learn the corresponding skiing skills before they can officially start to try skiing. Attempt, there is a high chance of injury.

1. Classification of skiing
Skiing is an exciting ice and snow sport, divided into single board and double board. The two types of skis are used in completely different ways, so choosing the right one for you is the most important thing.
After putting on the double board, standing is not a problem at all, and you can slide with a little practice. Unlike veneers, how to stand and slide while wearing the veneer is a big issue. So getting started with a single board is slightly more difficult than a double board, but the progress after getting started is faster and more interesting than a double board.
The entry barrier to skiing is relatively low. After putting on the skis, it feels like wearing two very large shoes. Standing is no problem, but it takes a long time of practice and stability to go from basic snow walking and plowing to parallel and flowering.
Compared with the traditional double board feel, the single board belongs to the category of extreme sports. Single boards also slide differently than double boards. It is to fix the feet firmly on the board, and the center of gravity of the body controls the sliding of the board. Even after a fall, the board and feet can't be separated, increasing its danger and giving fans even more excitement.
How to choose single board or double board?
If you are just a beginner, or just want to experience the fun of skiing in winter, then skiing is recommended!
If you have a certain skiing foundation, or want to challenge the thrill and limit, you can try snowboarding.

2. Equipment list
Ski equipment
Snowboard: In general, we should choose a snowboard with a length of 5~15cm minus the height. Beginners choose shorter, shorter skis are more flexible and easier to control; longer skis are faster.
Ski poles: (Only required for snowboards) Stand on two poles, with forearms perpendicular to the body and arms in an "L" shape.
Binders: The role of the bindings is to connect the snowshoes and snowboards.
Helmet: Be sure to wear a helmet when skiing, choose a professional ski helmet, not too tight or too loose after wearing.
Ski boots: Be sure to be tight and don't allow your foot to move inside the boot.
Snow goggles: mainly used to protect the eyes from reflex stimulation, just find one you like.

Warming equipment
Clothing: It is best to choose specialized ski suits and ski pants. If not, the underwear must be permeable fabric, otherwise it will be very uncomfortable after sweating. The outer layer of the underwear needs a fleece warm clothing, and the outermost layer of clothing needs to be breathable and waterproof.
Gloves and socks: Gloves are required to be waterproof, breathable, and non-slip. Socks need to keep warm and protect from snow. Longer wool socks are best.
Facial towel: The weather is generally dry and windy in winter, and a towel can effectively protect the facial skin.
Other protective equipment: After all, skiing is an outdoor sport. If you want to avoid injury as much as possible, you can wear protective equipment such as knee pads, elbow pads, arm pads, and hip pads.

3. Skiing skills
Snowboarding: In fact, for beginners, it is recommended to try a double board, because at least everyone can stand on the double board, and if there is no one to accompany you, you can try to use the power of the double board to slide forward with crutches , so for novice friends, the double board is still more suitable for everyone.
Snowboard skills:
STEP1-Keep the skis parallel on a flat surface and walk forward or sideways to train the acclimatization to the snow and the skis.
STEP2-Slip and slide on gentle slopes, you can experience and practice the action of standing snowboard steel edge braking.
STEP3- When you start to slide, keep your feet in a figure-eight shape, so that the snowboard has a cut angle with the snow surface. Do this from the beginning until you stop.
STEP4- On the basis of the movements just learned, move the center of gravity of the body from the middle of the original two feet to the left or right foot, do the exercises first, and then move the center of gravity to the left foot (or right foot) for stable movements several times. Within seconds, as the body's center of gravity moves from side to side, the ski remains in a figure-eight shape and at an angle to the snow.
Once you have learned the plow style, you can practice slowly on the slopes. Don't be jealous of someone else's approach to parallel skiing. If you are proficient in plow skiing, parallel skiing is relatively simple.
STEP5-Brake: Relax the upper body, hold the head of the ski pole at the height of the buttocks in front of you, hang the ski pole behind you, the center of gravity of the body is on the inside of the front foot, can't sit down, open the tail of the double board to a "V" during the sliding process ” or figure-eight increases the resistance to slow down and eventually stop.

Snowboarding: Snowboarding is different from skiing, because snowboarding is standing flat on the board, and there is a problem of switching between left and right legs, so beginners must find which leg is stronger before going to school, and determine which leg is front legs.
Snowboard tips:
STEP1- First, master the correct standing posture: bend your knees slightly, straighten your back and look up, and place your arms on both sides of your legs naturally;
STEP2-Straight down: At the beginning, the first movement you should practice is straight down, because after mastering this movement, you will have a certain understanding of your center of gravity and the balance point of snowboarding.
Unlike the standing position, when sliding straight down, the weight should be on the front legs, the arms are straight forward, the back is straight, the chin is slightly raised, and the knees are slightly lifted and bent for good balance and stability. , reduce falls and injuries. Lean forward.
STEP3-Brake: If you want to brake smoothly, the most important thing is to practice the proficient control of the edge of the veneer. Pay attention to the center of gravity of the front legs. When you want to stop, turn your upper body outward while looking out. The rear leg kicks the board forward, the toes are lifted, and the pushing board action is performed, and the rear edge forms the brake.

4. Safety precautions for skiing
Difficulty is selected according to ability: only when the skier's skill level can safely stop and avoid obstacles on the slope, other skiers can go to the correspondingly higher level of the slopes.
Rest: When taking a break, stop at the edge of the slope, be careful to avoid people getting off the slope, and pay attention when re-entering the slope.
Collision prevention: There is a saying in skiing, if you are not afraid of falling, you are afraid of collision. That is, it is better to fall than to collide. Collision is very dangerous. There are often cases of hitting people, trees, and nets, which can lead to contusions in light cases and fractures in severe cases.
Fall Safely: Do not struggle after a fall, try to lower your center of gravity as quickly as possible and sit back. In general, you can lift your hands and arms, bend your body, and let it slide down, avoiding head down and rolling over.
